MUD 2-C10
Output
Material sample tile is made with mud-like sewage sludge from the ceramic department of the Fine Art University Belas Artes in Porto mixed with atomized stoneware GM by MOTA Ceramic Solutions.
Starting with the raw material "mud" various recipes were developed involving different percentages of sewage sludge, ranging from 0% to 100% reuse.
This tile is part of the MUD MATTERS project for Porto Design Biennale 2023.

Production Process
• waste collection from the ceramic department of the Fine Art University Belas Artes in Porto
• sieving the residues into a consistent clay
• Portioning: 100ml of ceramic paste made with a composition of 30 % liquid atomised stoneware (2) and 70% liquid residues (C10)
• additional water H2O: 15ml drinking water / tap water from Águas do Porto
